Short to Long Term Accommodation
What is Short-Term Accommodation (STA)?
Short-Term Accommodation (STA), including respite care, is a support category under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) that provides participants with temporary accommodation when their usual supports and accommodation are not available. STA allows participants to stay in a different environment, offering an opportunity for their usual caregivers to take a break, and for participants to experience new activities and social interactions. Commonly referred to as respite, STA can be beneficial for both participants and their families by providing short-term relief and new experiences.
